Greece - Accidents General

In case of an accident or any other incident (fire, theft, loss, etc.), the driver must:

  • Immediately notify the police/authorities
  • Contact the local car rental office as soon as possible
  • Refrain from accepting or agreeing to any demands from third parties
  • Record the names, surnames, and addresses of any witnesses, as well as all parties involved
  • Collect all relevant information and evidence (e.g. photos, documents) and send it to the rental company
  • Complete and sign the relevant declaration form (accident report, etc.)

The local office staff will provide proper instructions depending on the situation, and these must be followed accordingly.

If necessary, Roadside Assistance will be called to the scene. The renter must remain near the vehicle until the issue is resolved. If required, the renter may also need to visit the local office to complete documentation and, if applicable, receive a replacement vehicle for the remaining rental period.

If the incident is caused by a traffic violation by the renter (e.g. running a red light or STOP sign), the driver will be charged the full cost of the damage, even if it exceeds the excess amount or if additional insurance has been purchased.

In all other cases, the renter may be charged the total cost of the damage, regardless of the excess amount.

The rental company reserves the right to take action within 24 hours from the time the incident is reported.

Please note that Roadside Assistance is provided by an external partner and response times cannot be controlled by the rental company.
