The minimum and maximum driver age depends on the car group:

For car groups A, A1, A2, AA, B, B1, B2, BA, C, C1, and CA, the minimum driver age required is 23 years old and the maximum driver age permitted is 75 years old. Drivers must hold a valid driving licence for at least 1 year.

For car groups SW, D, D1, D2, D3, D3A, DA, E, E1, E2, E3, E4, G, H, H1, EK, HK, HS, K, K1, K2, K2A, KN, KNA, R, R1, and RA, the minimum driver age required is 25 years old and the maximum driver age permitted is 75 years old. Drivers must also hold a valid driving licence for at least 1 year.

A Young Driver option is available only for specific car groups (A, A1, A2, AA, B, B1, B2, BA, C, C1, and CA). Drivers aged 21 to 23 years old may be allowed to rent a vehicle, provided they meet all rental requirements and hold a valid driving licence for at least 1 year. A Young Driver fee applies, which is €9 per day, up to a maximum of €90 per rental.

The Young Driver option is not available for the remaining car groups (SW, D, D1, D2, D3, D3A, DA, E, E1, E2, E3, E4, G, H, H1, EK, HK, HS, K, K1, K2, K2A, KN, KNA, R, R1, and RA), where the minimum age requirement remains 25 years old.

A Senior Driver option is available for all car groups for drivers aged 75 years and above, provided they hold a valid driving licence. A Senior Driver fee applies, which is €9 per day, up to a maximum of €90 per rental.
